The UK is set to progress with employing the entire amount of immobilized Russian assets to aid Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to come to the table.

They further noted that the initiative would be implemented in close cooperation with the America.

UK restrictions have immobilized over £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, until now, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had exclusively been taken from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were aligned in their desire to drive progress toward using the full value of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to conclude the conflict.

He noted that additional restrictions in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on Russia.

This declaration follows European officials gathered in Copenhagen previously to discuss using seized Russia's funds for a €140 billion credit to Ukraine.

Last month, US President Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to confiscate or employ immobilized Russian funds, according to media sources.

The value of seized Russia's holdings in the EU is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

Russia launched extensive bombardments all over Ukraine on Friday, causing power cuts in significant regions of the capital city, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to reporters he would press Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement program, under which Nato countries acquire weapons from the US to donate to Ukraine.

While commending the United Kingdom's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he said it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the program, as well as impose more sanctions on Russia.
