Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is unclear and the United States has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
