Tottenham Willing to Offloading Attacker Brennan Johnson.

Brennan Johnson in action
Brennan Johnson has been capped 42 times for Wales after his first appearance in 2020.

Spurs' Europa League final match-winner Brennan Johnson is facing an unclear situation at the club amid rising Premier League interest in the attacker.

It is understood that the club, while not actively looking to sell the Welsh international, are open to letting Johnson leave if they get a suitable bid.

The Eagles are reportedly the side most advanced in their interest for Johnson, but other teams are said to be monitoring his situation closely.

A Season of Mixed Fortunes

Johnson was Tottenham's top Premier League scorer the previous campaign with 11 goals, and etched his name in club history by netting the decisive goal in their European final triumph against United last season, bringing to a close the club's 17-year wait for a trophy.

However, the departure of Ange Postecoglou and arrival of the new head coach has resulted in Johnson playing more of a peripheral role this season.

The Welsh forward, has been granted only 6 top-flight starting appearances this term.

Transfer Market Interest Grows

As a result, a series of clubs have been alerted to his likely exit before the January transfer window.

Due to his lack of action and the looming possibility of a global tournament approaching with his national team, a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could benefit Johnson next month.

The attacker moved to Spurs from Forest in a deal worth ÂĢ47.5m in the summer of 2023 and has scored 27 goals in all competitions.

Summary

  • The Welsh international's future at Tottenham is currently in doubt.
  • The club is not actively marketing him but would consider offers.
  • Crystal Palace are at the front of the queue, with other Premier League clubs monitoring.
  • The arrival of manager has reduced his playing time this season.
  • The upcoming transfer window and international commitments could influence a January exit.
